Paint Australia red with Operation Lifeblood 2006!

Australia’s biggest operation ever, Operation Lifeblood, launches on Monday 1 May and the Australian Red Cross Blood Service needs your help. 45,000 new donors are encouraged to give blood between now and July that means more than 21,000 litres of blood need to be given. The unveiling of the Australian Red Cross Blood Services new TV campaign will also take place on 1 May.
“It doesn’t matter whether you’re 20 or 70, male or female, a footy fan or a gourmet cook it costs absolutely nothing to give blood,” said Dr Pip Hetzel, National Operations Manager of the Australian Red Cross Blood Service. “As long as you meet the Australian Red Cross Blood Service eligibility criteria, then you too could be one of the very special Australians that could save a life by giving blood. Australian blood for Australians!”
If you have never given blood before, then you’re exactly who we want to hear from. One in three people will need blood at some point in their lifetime, but only one in thirty actually give blood. Roll up your sleeves during Operation Lifeblood and give.
