 | Every two minutes, another case of child abuse is reported in Australia NAPCAN SA’s (National Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, South Australia) vision is that every Australian Community is child friendly, and focuses on promotion and primary prevention of child abuse and neglect. We are proud to have achieved many things since establishing in 1987, some of these include coordinating National Child Protection Week, Conducting award winning prevention campaigns including; talking baby, its not ok to shake babies, don’t just stand there, and our latest campaign Children See, Children Do which is part of our new initiative Child Friendly Australia. NAPCAN has also distributed over 20 million prevention tools including brochures, posters and videos. The list goes on and we continue to work on this important issue. NAPCAN SA needs your help now more than ever... Your membership will financially help the operational capacity of NAPCAN, who supports people who need referrals, support and information, supports the establishment of child friendly community action groups, it funds research through the knowledge institutes and key partners, as well as reinforce NAPCAN’s position as a powerful force in the prevention of child abuse and neglect and as a leader on the path toward a child friendly Australia. Our Annual Membership fee can be from as low as $11.00 for concession which equals less than 25c per week. You will also be part of the community helping to prevent child abuse and neglect. Members are entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting and become committee members were you can have the opportunity to feed into the direction and process of NAPCAN. As an autonomous body, NAPCAN is dependent on funding assistance from the community. Child abuse is essentially a community problem. With community help we can work to make children’s lives safer and happier. With the important assistance of funds raised through membership we will be able to implement the organisations aims and objectives.
