National Youth Week 2006 - Just Add You!

National Youth Week is a week-long celebration that encourages young people to take part in activities, enjoy special events and celebrate their individuality and diversity. Our mission is to highlight the positive contributions that young people make to society.

National Youth Week is built on principles of youth participation, which is an essential driver of community development and social change. It allows young people to define and articulate their concerns as well as design, negotiate and implement appropriate solutions. All communities benefit from National Youth Week by providing opportunities for young peoples’ skills, ideas, energy and commitment to be showcased and celebrated.

The Office for Youth coordinates South Australia’s involvement in National Youth Week and supports the implementation of events across the State.

Every year grants are provided to Councils and other organisations with a youth focus to run events and activities during the week.
