The Eyre Regional Youth Network have produced a booklet titled 'Getting Out - A young person’s guide to becoming independent', aimed at assisting young people in their transition to living independently. Recently this information has become available on the Internet at www.gettingout.info 'Getting Out...' was developed by The Eyre Regional Youth Network as a response to the needs identified at a Youth Forum held in 2003. It is not only targeted at school leavers, but at young people in general who are pursuing independence, whether that be moving away for education or employment reasons, or moving next door in their local community. The website offers practical advice in such areas as careers, education, employment, budgeting, accommodation, transport, keeping active, socialising, safe partying and stress management.
