A songwriting workshop by Jesse Younan, Lara Stephen and Tim Ireland.
The songwriters Tim, Lara and Jesse will discuss their own formative songwriting experiences and how they came to identify themselves as songwriters. One of the songwriters may also perform a song to open the session. While the style of these three songwriters is broadly roots-based folk/pop, this workshop will engage with techniques and methods which apply to most genres (i.e hip hop). Learn about structure and form, lyric writing, chords and melody, and how to use ideas. Each songwriter will introduce a small section of the following workshop components followed by input from the other writers. (Please note the workshop will be open to question and answer the entire way through.)
