SHH! Your Eyes Only!
The Foundation for Young Australians is calling for young people 12 -15 years to volunteer their time to funding projects through the Your Eyes Only initiative. Your Eyes Only will be a new funding opportunity offered by The Foundation in 2007 that invites young people aged 12-15 to submit a creative response (e.g. poster, multimedia) celebrating the strengths of their community through their eyes. Young volunteers recruited to the Your Eyes Only Committee will then make decisions on which applications are successful.
The Foundation for Young Australians is a national grant making organisation aimed at funding and working in partnerships with young people. Each year approximately $6 Million of funding is allocated to young people*s projects. Young volunteers will also have the opportunity of working with other young people from across Australia, and they may also get to travel.
Approximately 30 short listed candidates will attend an Orientation Camp program to be held in the January 2007 school holidays in Melbourne. Final decisions on appointments will be made during the Camp Program. The Foundation will meet the costs of travel for all to attend this weekend. With the 2006 edition now sold out, a new edition will recognise more of Australia*s remarkable women and publish new ideas and reflections.
Our 2007 theme &Embrace the Journey* is the next step in recording the history of women in Australia. We are now calling for you to make nominations for Who*s Who of Australian Women 2007, and invite you to submit the names of women who have either demonstrated excellence in their field or significantly contributed to Australian society 每 ranging from prominent leaders to the unsung heroes of your community.
